MiFi HiLink App Guide

Updated
Use the HiLink app on your phone to change your MiFi's Wi-Fi, manage devices, check your balance and more.

Connect to the app

  1. Download the HiLink app from Google Play or the App Store.
  2. Connect your phone to your MiFi's Wi-Fi network.
  3. Open the HiLink app. The home screen shows:
    • Network status
    • Signal bars
    • Battery level
    • 4G or 3G connection
    • Speed statistics
    • Online and offline devices

Change your Wi-Fi name and password

  1. Tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Go to Settings > My Wi-Fi.
  3. Change the Wi-Fi name (SSID) or password and save your changes.

After you change the name or password, reconnect your devices to the Wi-Fi network.

Turn data roaming on or off

  1. Go to Tools > Shortcut > Data Roaming.
  2. Turn data roaming on or off.

See roaming for rates while you travel.

Choose the mobile network mode

For the best performance, keep this set to Auto.

  1. Tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Go to Settings > Network > Network carrier > Preferred network.

Manage connected devices

  1. Go to Devices.
  2. Online devices lists the devices connected now, with each device's name, connection time and MAC address. Select a device to allow or block its internet access.
  3. Offline devices lists devices that connected before. Delete a device to make it request access again the next time it connects.

Send and read text messages

  1. Go to Tools > SMS and tap New to write a message.
  2. Open a conversation to read, reply to or manage your messages.

Check your balance and buy data add-ons

The MiFi USSD menu, *600#, lets you buy data add-ons and check your bundle balance.

  1. Go to Tools > Shortcut > USSD > Check Services.
  2. Enter *600# and follow the menu.

Turn on guest Wi-Fi

  1. Go to Tools > Guest Wi-Fi.
  2. Set how long guest Wi-Fi stays on, its Wi-Fi name (SSID) and its password.

Set up the Wi-Fi extender

The Wi-Fi extender connects your MiFi to another Wi-Fi network and extends its coverage.

  1. Go to Tools > Wi-Fi Extender.
  2. Turn on the extender and choose the Wi-Fi network to extend.

When the extender is on and set up, your MiFi uses that Wi-Fi connection first.
